Production Scoop for OCOP Approved

Considering the need for the University of Rizal System to strengthen its fiscal autonomy, the Production Services through the able leadership of its Director, Dr. Leo C. Rio brains the One Campus, One Product (OCOP) advocacy project which sets anew the challenge for the ten campuses of the University to develop, register, promote and market their signature products as results of their faculty research ventures.

OCOP adopts the idea of the One Town, One Product-Philippines Program (OTOP-Phil.) which is a program of the government that promotes entrepreneurship and create jobs for young professional, out of school youth and non-working individuals.

With the administration’s initial support of P50, 000.00 per presented proposal of each campus during the URS Agency In-house Review, OCOP’s kick-off to bring to showcase the signature product of each campus is scheduled beginning the first quarter of 2021. The said products will be applied for IP registration through the assistance of the IPO.

It is worthy to note that the different Campuses through the tandem of the Campus Director and Campus Head for Production that concept papers were successfully presented during the 2nd Agency In-House Review last October 30, 2020.
