URS Joins Project TRANSFORM

The launching of the Project Transdisciplinary Approach for Resilience and Environmental Sustainability through Multistakeholder Engagement otherwise known as Project TRANSFORM initiated by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Rizal Provincial Government was held at the Ynares Events Center, Provincial Capitol Building Compound, Antipolo City on February 29.

The University of Rizal System (URS) joined the pledge of commitment as an academe partner of the DENR and the Rizal Province as they signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) along with the municipalities of Baras, Rodriguez, San Mateo, and Tanay.

The event was graced by the DENR secretary, Hon. Maria Antonia Yulo Loyzaga, the governor of Rizal Province, Hon. Nina Ricci Ynares, the mayors of Antipolo City and municipalities of Rizal, partners in the private and public sectors, and representatives of stakeholder groups.

The URS officials present were Dr. Nancy Pascual, president; Dr. Marites Rio, vice president for Research Development, Extension, and Production; Rennie Mae De Lemon, director, URS planning unit; Day Cabugawan, executive assistant; Esther Recla, Environmental Education & Biodiversity Research Center (EEBRC) head; Cleofas Ramiro, EEBRC staff; and Michelle Garcia, EEBRC focal person of Rodriguez Campus.

This project launch aims to stand together and reaffirm support to pursue a continuing agenda of building a resilient, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable Province of Rizal. //
