The Southern Tagalog Agriculture, Aquatic and Resources Research, Development and Extension Consortium (STAARRDEC) held its 1st Regional Research and Innovation Week (RRIW) last October 23–26, 2023, at the University of the Philippines Los Baños. The one-week celebration featured the following activities: 36th Regional Symposium on Research, Development, and Extension Highlights (RSRDEH); 2nd Student Congress; 1st Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Summit; and Technology Expo.
With the theme “Catalyzing Regional Advancement through Research and Innovation,” the said undertaking aims to promote research and innovation culture, disseminate knowledge, encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, create networking opportunities, inspire and motivate various stakeholders, engage with the public, showcase the impact of Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) endeavors, gather feedback for improvement, attract funding and support, and celebrate achievement. The University will join the festivities to showcase the creative minds and pride of URS in research, development, science and technology, and its extension services.
