CULTIVATING BRILLIANT MINDS WITH SMART FARMING: SANRI INITIATED ITS TRANSFORMATIVE WEBINAR

The Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Resources Institute (SANRI), in collaboration with the University Extension Services, conducted a webinar during their program Agri-Eskwela: Climate SAFE with the topic titled: “Why SMART Farming?” A Webinar on Increasing Food Demand and Decreasing Agricultural Lands was held last June 27, 2023, via Google Meet.

The program started with a warm welcome from the Director of Extension Services, Dr. Fe Esperanza T. Mateo, followed by an inspirational message from the Director of Research and Development, Dr. Niclie L. Tiratira, and Dr. Marites M. Rio, Vice President of Research Development, Extension, and Production.

Dr. Alexandra A. Quitoles-Jamoralin, a Senior Research Specialist at Rizal Agricultural Research Experiment Station, served as the resource speaker for the said event. During her talk, she shared her insights on the benefits of smart farming, its adaptability to the challenges faced by the agricultural state of the country, and how the attendees can form an initiative to promote and apply smart farming at their own convenience. The program ended with a message of appreciation by Prof. Jerry C. Esperanza, Head of SANRI.
