To help the URS community comply to RA 11934, also known as the Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) Registration Act, the University of Rizal System partnered with SMART Communications to set up SIM card registration booths in URS in February.
Through the partnership and efforts of both URS and SMART communication, SIM card registration booths were deployed in all ten URS Campuses to assist all faculty, staff, students and the community in general in registering their SMART or TNT SIM cards.
The registration booths were set up on February 8 and 9 in URS Tanay, February 9 in Cardona campus, February 14-16 in Morong, February 16 in Pililla, February 20-21 in Binangonan and Angono, February 22 in Taytay and Cainta, February 23 in Antipolo City, and February 27-28 in Rodriguez.
The SIM Registration Act which was passed down last year requires every Filipino to register his/her SIM card/s to verify the user and protect Filipinos from various cybercrimes.
