The University of Rizal System celebrated its 21st Founding Anniversary with a theme, “URS @21: Celebrating Service Excellence and Greater Opportunities for Internationalization”, August 11, 2022.

Dr. Ariel Plantilla, chair of the 21st Founding Anniversary delivered his welcome remarks to the audience. It was followed by the messages of Dr. Renato F. De Lemon, VP for Admin and Finance, and Hon. Mayor Sidney B. Soriano, municipal mayor of Morong, Rizal. In his message, Mayor Soriano shared his commitment to collaborating with URS.
“We both strive for service excellence. I, in the public service, and you, in the academic service,” Mayor Soriano said. “Asahan niyo po ang suporta ng pamahalaang bayan sa programa at hakbangin ng University of Rizal System. Nawa ito po ang pagsisimula ng ating pagsasama,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dr. Marites M. Rio, VP for RDEP, introduced Hon. Nina Ricci A. Ynares, governor of the Province Rizal, as the keynote speaker.
Gov. Ynares was represented by Vice Governor Reyjun San Juan. The vice governor extended the congratulatory greetings of Gov. Ynares, who attended an equally important meeting that coincides with the University’s foundation celebration.
Vice Gov. San Juan acknowledged the important role of URS in the community.
“URS have gone its mission in from generation to another generation by being creative to promote the well-being of our country,” Vice Governor San Juan emphasized. “We see how the University tries the high quality of education it provides and the management style it uses,” he added.
More so, Faculty Regent Hon. John Vincent G. Guillermo and Alumni Regent Hon. Ricardo R. Ariston, and Student Regent Hon. Charlie Metcena gave their greetings in celebration of the founding anniversary of the University.
In the latter part of the program, Dr. Nancy T. Pascual, university president, delivered her President’s Charge. After this, Dr. Allan E. Conde, VP for Academic Affairs, gave his closing remarks.
The program concluded with a community singing led by The Olivas Sister. The Hiyas ng Rizal Dance Troupe performed in the Intermission Number.
