The University of Rizal System (URS) celebrated its 23rd Founding Anniversary at the URS-Morong Campus on August 7 – 9. The event commemorates a significant milestone as the University dedicated itself to providing quality education and shaping students’ lives over the past 23 years.
The celebration started with a solidarity meeting among the University Committee on the Culture and the Arts (UCCA) campus coordinators. A parade around the town proper was held to signal the beginning of the celebration. The opening program, with the Rizal province Gov. Nina Ricci Ynares as the keynote speaker immediately followed. The Battle of the Bands was held later in the evening.
The visual arts competition consists of on-the-spot poster making, pencil drawing, charcoal rendering, painting, and a photo contest together with musical contests such as the bandurria, guitar, violin, and piano solo instruments playing, kundiman, pop solo, and duet singing highlighted the second day of the event.
Day 3 of the celebration consisted of contemporary and folk dances, short and sweet plays, radio drama, modern and street dance, and the Festival King and Queen competitions. //
