URS Targets P58M Project on Flexible Learning in Non-contact Era

To continuously provide higher professional and technical education while maintaining safe distance between teachers and learners during this pandemic, the University of Rizal System (URS) proposed three projects that will answer the call of time.

Three projects called “URS ICON (URS Internet – Connectivity/Wifi Connection for URS Campuses)”, “School Management Information System with Learning Management System” and “Establishment of Hybrid Studios in Support to Flexible Learning in the Non-Contact Era” are up for approval of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to support the non-contact education mode at present.

“URS ICON (URS Internet – Connectivity/Wifi Connection for URS Campuses” aims for the internet connectivity of all the 10 campuses of the University. Also, this “School Management Information System (MIS) with Learning Management System (LMS)” will provide for the content development, writing, production, validation and overall development of learning materials, including but not limited to, audio-visual presentation of course materials and curated lectures by professors. Meanwhile, “Establishment of Hybrid Studios in Support to Flexible Learning in the Non-Contact Era” will be supported by these two aforementioned projects where learning will be delivered through “live studios” consisting of learning materials delivered through thru video recording using visual effects for an enhanced and more immersive learning experience.

URS ICON project is pegged at₱13,603,055.00, School MIS with LMS is set at P16, 274, 600.00 while Hybrid Studios project is estimated at P25, 000, 000. These total specifically to P58, 877, 655.00.
