URS Shines in 9th PASUC Fest

The Philippine Association of State Universities (PASUC) held the 9th PASUC Culture and Arts Festival at the Negros Oriental State University (NOrSU), Dumaguete City on November 28 to December 1.

Nine student participants from the URS delegation with their coaches joined the competition and won awards in the name of URS and Region 4. Charmaine Rivera, with her coach, Prof. Mary Grace Magistrado, became a finalist in the Pop Solo competition. The duo of Stephen Fermin and Jael Dionisio, coached by Prof. Crysalyn Cruzado, was able to grab the 4th runner up position against 16 competing regions. The URS Radio Drama team composed of Christian Ison, Pearl Anne Gajardo, Dan Joseph Sta. Ana, Jhon Paul Molina and Anna Rose Deloso, with their coach, Prof. Jansen San Juan, was able to grab the 3rd place in the Radio Drama Competition. Finally, Gio Ojeda, coached by Prof. Maureen Bulatao, bagged the 2nd place in the painting category. In the end, the URS delegation was able to contribute 13 points to the total score of Region 4.

The delegation was led by Dr. Marita R. Canapi, URS President and Prof. Edward Andrecio, Head of URS University Center for Culture and the Arts (UCCA) with the assistance of Prof. Edith Dela Cruz and Prof. J Lover Trinidad.

The four-day affair aimed to showcase the talents of students from different State Universities and Colleges from all 16 regions of the Philippines. by Jansen San Juan
