The University of Rizal System has officially earned its place among the world’s top academic institutions, securing a ranking of 1001–1500th in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025. This notable inclusion marks a historic milestone for the university, reflecting its growing commitment to quality education, sustainable development, and global academic standards.
The Times Higher Education (THE) is globally recognized for its university rankings that measure performance across key areas of higher education. These rankings are designed to assess how institutions worldwide are contributing to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). According to THE, the rankings provide a comparative analysis based on three core missions of universities: research, teaching, and societal impact.
Each institution included in the ranking receives a comprehensive profile detailing metrics such as staff-to-student ratio, income per student, international student composition, and gender balance. This offers a critical benchmark for identifying universities distinguished by their scholarly achievements and dedication to societal progress.
URS’s performance in the 2025 rankings is especially distinguished in its impact across several SDGs. These include:
- SDG 5: Gender Equality – Scoring between 49.9 and 0, highlighting efforts to promote inclusivity and empower women within the institution.
- SDG 1: No Poverty – With a score range of 45.8–52.9, URS continues to be a driver of equitable access to education and economic upliftment.
- SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth – Garnering a score of 38.7–58.0, URS shows strong engagement in fostering employability and sustainable economic development.
