The University of Rizal System and Paraiso De Avedad signed a Memorandum of Agreement and a Memorandum of Understanding to formalize their partnership on micro-hydro power research and hospitality management training extension service on September 7 at Paraiso De Avedad, San Pablo, Laguna.
The Memorandum of Understanding focused on the development of sustainable energy using micro-hydro power with URS in charge of the technical aspects of the said project. Meanwhile, a Memorandum of Agreement was signed for the 24K Hatid sa Komunidad project that aims to upscale the skills of Paraiso De Avedad workers in breadmaking and pastry, front office management, cooking, and other hospitality-related skills. URS was represented by Dr. Nancy Pascual, president; Dr. Marites Rio, VP for research development, extension, and production; Dr. Niclie Tiratira, director for research, and Dr. Fe Esperanza Mateo, director for extension. Likewise, Paraiso De Avedad was represented by Ret. Gen. Romeo Sta Ana Jr. and other resort officials. Both projects are set from 2023 until 2026 or a total of three years.
