URS-CLL, PNA, Various Orgs Commemorate Independence Day Through Health Mission, Gift Giving Activities for Dumagat Indigenous Community in Tanay, Rizal

In celebration of Philippine Independence Day, various organizations joined forces to organize a health mission and gift-giving event for the Dumagat indigenous people in Sitio Magata, Brgy. Laiban, Tanay Rizal on June 12.

Coordinated by the Philippine Nurses Association-Rizal Chapter through the efforts of Nurse Jean Leslie de Castro and the Center for Lifelong Learning of the University of Rizal System represented by Dr. Norberto M. Natano, the event witnessed the participation of multiple organizations committed to making a positive impact on the lives of the Dumagat people.

Nurse Leslie has always been a constant partner of URS-CLL in providing healthcare services to the community. She takes lead in gathering various organizations to make the activity possible.

 

Among the organizations that helped in making the event a success were GS Electronics Solution, United Bible Fellowship, Grace Christian Fellowship, Sampaloc Eagles Club, Tanay Lions Kapuso Club, Kabalikat Civicom, Gaston Sports Service Development, and Pamantasan Lungsod ng Marikina-College of Health Sciences, PLMar-Healthcare Society, Our Lady of Fatima University-College of Nursing, the Heart Start Educators for Lifelong Learners, Inc., the FLAP 4K of URS Antipolo Campus, MSWD-Municipality of Tanay Rizal.

Approximately 100 families received gift donations from the said organizations, and about 100 individuals availed of the free checkups and received essential medicines from Dr. Sonnie P. Talavera together with the nursing students from the Pamantasan Lungsod ng Marikina-College of Health Sciences.
