College of Engineering students, Meg Abesa, Rolando Lintero, Suzette Tablada, and Rikka Ashley Regalado with their research adviser, Engineer Merie Ann Dudang won 1st place with their entry “Hybrid Coffee Seed Dryer” in the STAARRTOK contest held on May 3.

This is one of the highlights of the Southern Tagalog Agriculture, Aquatic, and Resources Research Development and Extension Consortium (STAARRDEC) celebration of its 35th anniversary and First Regional Pitch Fest at Cavite State University. Dr. Rocan Pangan also pitched his technology Powdered Trichantera on the same event.
The welcome remarks and introduction of the keynote speaker were given by Dr. Hernando Robles, regional chairperson of STAARRDEC and president of Cavite State University. The keynote message was given by Dr. Reynaldo Ebora, executive director of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD). Other highlights are the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Commitment by the Regional Research and Development Coordinating Council (RRDCC) members, in which Dr. Marites Rio, URS VP for RDEP, serves as URS representative.~ EMBR
