The 8th SCAF officially began with the registration of delegates and a solidarity meeting from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm on November 26 at the Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Tanghalang Sining (EARTS).
Delegates from the 12 participating SUCs arrived early to complete their registration, marking the start of this annual event. URS Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Allan Conde and URS Morong Campus Director Dr. Niclie Tiratira welcomed the officials, coaches, and contestants, setting the tone for a vibrant and collaborative festival. In his welcome remarks, Dr. Conde acknowledged each delegation and expressed gratitude for their participation that can contribute to the success of the 8th SCAF.
The solidarity meeting emphasized the festival’s core values of inclusivity, respect, and shared cultural pride. The event also served as a platform to introduce the Culture and the Arts directors, and contest headmasters by Dr. Angelito Quiñones, Jr., president of ACADC R-IV, Inc.; present the university officials, event coordinators, and committee chairpersons by Dr. Edward Andrecio, co-chairperson of the 8th SCAF; outline house rules by Dr. Niclie Tiratira; discuss the medical response team and plans by Dr. Edna Maycacayan, chairperson of Committee on Health Safety and Protocols; cite incident command system and security matters by Prof. Ricardo Cruz, NSTP head, as well as the parade route by Dr. Jose Binaluyo, Jr., chairperson, Committee on Parade.
Breakout sessions by contest categories immediately followed and were facilitated by the contest headmasters, event coordinators, and coaches.
With the registrations complete and the solidarity meeting inspiring the participants, the stage has been set for an exciting lineup of events, from performances and exhibitions to workshops and competitions.
