OUTREACH 4 Empowers Community with Diverse Learning Sessions

The OUTREACH 4: Opportunities Within Reach for the Community Champions program delivered two more sessions aimed at enriching knowledge and skills for community development. The initiative featured expert speakers and covered diverse topics, from agricultural business ventures to specialized library practices, all accessible live via Google Meet and YouTube.

The program kicked off Session 3 on April 3, 2025, at 8:00 AM, under the theme “Patuloy na Pagpapayaman ng Kaalaman at Kasanayan Tungo sa Higit na Maunlad na Pa-mayanan”. This session focused on “Cuniculture – Road to Rabbit Raising and Business Ventures.” Esteemed speakers Prof. Margie Bibat and Mr. Ricky John Babia led the discussion, offering valuable insights into the potential of rabbit raising as a sustainable livelihood and business opportunity.

On May 21, Session 4 of the same program delved into “Enhancing Indigenous Knowledge Management and Cataloging Practices in Koha: Languages in Koha.” Mr. Manuel Tamayo of the Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL) spoke on this specialized topic. Importantly, participating librarians had the opportunity to earn 8 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) units.

Both sessions of “OUTREACH 4” aim to provide accessible learning opportunities, leveraging online platforms to reach a wider audience. The program underscores a commitment to empowering individuals with practical knowledge and skills that can contribute to both personal growth and the advancement of their respective communities.
