Live Bands Rock SCAF Night

In a stunning tableau of motion and symphony, delegates from the STRASUC vied in the live band competition, performing elected renditions of their chosen songs for a cheerful and enthusiastic crowd on November 26.

Taking this year’s title of champion are delegates from Batangas State University, who delivered a commanding performance of “Manila,” securing first place in the STRASUC live band competition. Delegates from Mindoro State University claimed second place with their rendition of  “Nadarang,” while third place went to the host school, University of Rizal System, whose performance of “Rock Baby Rock” earned them a spot in the top three. The fourth-place position was awarded to Palawan State University, who impressed with their performance of “Doo-bee-doo,” and rounding out the top five, delegates from Laguna State Polytechnic University took fifth place with their rendition of “Tatsulok” and “Doo-bee-doo.”

Performances were evaluated based on musicality, performance, technical, and overall impact. The live band competition is one of the most anticipated displays of student talent during this festivity, alongside the   Festival King and Queen competition, which is set to take place on November 27. This year marks the 8th edition of STRASUC which highlights the importance of culture in shaping the spirit of collaboration and identity within the Southern Tagalog academic community. //KRG
