The OVP-RDEP Extension Services Unit, under the baton of Dr. Fe Esperanza T. Mateo, the campus director of URS Binangonan, and in collaboration with URS Binangonan and URS Cainta campuses, spearheaded the first session of Outreach 3: Opportunities Within Reach for the Community Champions last February 2, 2024 via Google Meet.
The campus director of URS Binangonan, Dr. Joanne S. Concepcion gave her opening remarks to welcome the attendees in the session. she was followed by the Vice President for Research Development, Extension, and Production Dr. Marites M. Rio who gave an inspirational message to encourage the participants to hone their best potential.
Dr. Jerwin M. Mahaguay, the Campus Extension Head from URS Pililla, formally introduced the guest speaker, Mr. Johnwell M. Villasanta of URS Binangonan. With Mr. Villasanta's guidance, the attendees could learn the basics of video editing.
In his talk, he gave tutorials and useful tips in video editing such as video trimming and incorporating elements such as texts, object animations, and transitions based on the requirements of the video theme. He also highlighted the importance of setting up the script of a video for cohesive and quality video content. In addition, he shared some sources for royalty-free audio to avoid copyright infringement.
The event ended with the closing remarks given by Prof. Enrique Villones, campus director of the URS Cainta. The webinar aimed to help the students, teachers, and non-teaching personnel become equipped with the necessary skills, specifically in video production and editing. With the program's success, the Extension Services Unit eyed more activities this year.
