Dignitaries’ Night Highlights Culture, Arts Fest

A night of elegance and celebration unfolded on November 26 as the Governor’s, Mayors’, and Presidents’ Night took center stage during the Southern Tagalog Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges Culture and the Arts Festival. Held at the Thriftmart Events Place at 7:00 pm, the event honored leadership and cultural contributions while showcasing artistic talents across the region.

Hon. Sidney Soriano, mayor of Morong, Rizal, and Hon. Nina Ricci Ynares, governor of Rizal Province, delivered heartfelt messages, expressing pride in the festival’s success and its ability to unite the region’s leaders, artists, and educators under a shared vision of cultural excellence.

A notable highlight of the program was the awarding of plaques of recognition to the state universities and college presidents. Presented by Dr. Nancy Pascual, president of URS, and Dr. Angelito Quiñones, Jr., president of ACADC R-IV, Inc., the recognition applauded the presidents’ dedication to fostering artistic growth within their institutions.

The audience enjoyed a delightful dinner as the evening transitioned into a celebration of talent with the presentation of the 8th STRASUC Culture and the Arts Festival King and Queen candidates. This segment celebrated the poise, creativity, and cultural pride of the festival’s student  representatives.

Adding a touch of artistic brilliance to the night are the cultural performances by Joshua Espinosa, Dwight Frederick Sanvictores, and the UCCA Hiyas ng Rizal Dance Troupe, whose presentations embodied the region’s rich heritage.

To conclude the evening, Dr. Marites Rio, vice president for Research Development, Extension, and Production, delivered closing remarks, praising the collaborative efforts that brought the event to life and inspiring participants to continue advancing cultural appreciation in their communities.

The Governor’s, Mayors’, and Presidents’ Night served as a testament to the power of unity and shared purpose, further enriching the ongoing celebration of creativity and cultural identity that defines the 8th STRASUC CAF. //JFA
