The Civil Service Commission hosted the PCSA Plant Run activity as part of the celebration of the 2023 Philippine Civil Service 10th Year anniversary with the theme “Transforming Public Service in the NEW Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant-Heroes” at the YES City, Brgy. Cuyambay, Tanay, Rizal on September 17.
Present in the program are Hon. Rafael Tanjuatco, Mayor of Tanay; Hon. Nina Ricci Ynares-Chiongbian, Governor of Rizal; Atty. Karlo Alexei Nograles, Chairperson, Civil Service Commission; GM Senando Santiago, Acting General Manager of the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA); and, Fire Marshall Sr. Insp. Argie Baniel of Tanay Fire Station.
Volunteers from the different campuses of the University participated in the activity. The event engaged the participants in a trail run which ended by planting a seedling at the designated site. The participants are Clarissa Marino, Jarraine Racel Galinato, Irish Albos, Marimel Dadulla, Dr. Carina Publico, Chrislynne Nicole Daduya, Manuel Publico, Rodante Sajo, Cleofas Ramiro, Engr. Maribeth Esteva, Grace Ann Faulve, Maria Jessica Cristorum, Joemer Llorera, Lyndeen Cordial, Renee Cordial, Marisoc Cimatu, and Marilyn Asupardo.
Not only will the activity rehabilitate forests in the different parts of the country by planting trees, but also the proceeds of the said event will go to the Pamanang Lingkod Bayani (PLBi), a program that honors government workers who died in the line of duty through the provision of one-time financial assistance plus scholarship opportunities to their family members. //JFa
