Best Researches, Extension Projects Named in URS 16th RDEP Congress

Research Development, Extension, and Production unit named its best researches and extension projects in the recently concluded URS 16th RDEP Congress, August 23, held via Zoom.

The study entitled, “Project: Potentials of Tagbak (Alpinia elegans (C.Presl) K.Schum) as Antihyperuricemia and tea Study 1: Ethnomedicinal Uses of Tagbak (Alpinia elegans (C. Presl) K. Schum)” by Dr. Maria Salome A. Desoloc and Dr. Fe Esperanza T. Mateo won the First Place in Descriptive Research Category. In Second Place is the study, “Project Title: University Online Counseling Project Study 1: Lived Experiences of Guidance Counselors in the University of Rizal System” by Dr. Lilibeth R Roldan Prof. Liezel R. Francisco. Meanwhile, the study, “Proposed Pililla Business District and Grand Terminal – Pre Design (Infrastructure Feasibility) Study” by Ar. Lyndon Sheridan P Trinidad finished in 3rd Place.

For the Experimental Category, Prof. Liezel R Francisco won the First Place with her research entitled, “Development, Validation, Acceptability and Effectiveness of Module in Developmental Psychology (Electronic or Hard Copy).” It was followed by the study, “Protective Air-Curtain Cap and face Shield Assembly [PACC FASA]” by Dr. Leo C Rio Dr. Marites M Rio, and Prof. Jojimar S. Julian, and the study, “Testing the Effectiveness and Acceptability of Print Modules for Business Students,” by Dr. Analyn V. Inarda which ranked in Second Place and Third Place, respectively.

On the other hand, the extension program, “Delivering Access to Quality Learning Opportunities to Marginalized CommunitY (DALOY),” by its proponents, Dr. Marilou C. Pantaleon, Dr. Norberto M. Nataño and Dr. Jenisus O. Dejarlo, won First Place. Finished in Second Place is the extension project, “Pagpapayabong ng mga Produktong Agrikultura: Sagot ng STAARRDEC sa Covid 19” by the team of Dr. Alexander M. Abrazado, Engr. Amabel P. Cruz, Dr. Elvira S Abines, Prof. Ma. Angela R. Quinto, Mr. Dandee M. Bitancor, Ms. Naomi D. Ruedas, Prof. Violeta C. Esperanza, Prof. Ailey B Dizon, and Engr. Maribeth S. Esteva. In Third Place is “READ: Raising Enthusiastic and Active Dwellers (A Community Reading Program for the Townfolks of Pililla, Rizal – Phase 2 at Barangay Quisao)” by Dr. Jocelyn L. Gagalang and Mrs. Anna Minia Lourdes C. Martinez.

Dr. Elaine Rose G. Nachon (Laguna State Polytechnic University), Dr. Viernalyn M. Nama (DepEd Region IV-A CALABARZON), Dr. Ferdinand G. Bulusan (Batanes State College), and Dr. Elmer G. De Jose (Polytechnic University of the Philippines) served as evaluators in Descriptive Category.

In Experimental Category, the evaluators are as follows: Dr. Melbourne R. Talactac (Cavite State University), Dr. Ronnell D. Dela Rosa (Bataan Peninsula State University), and Prof. Ryan Manuel D. Guido (Rizal Technological University).

More so, Ms. Lorna C. Matel (Cavite State University), Dr. Armando V. Mendoza Jr. (Batangas State University), Ms. Sherylou C. Alfaro (DA- Agricultural Training Institute), and Dr. Elena M. Manaig (Laguna State Polytechnic University) served as evaluators for Extension category.

A total of 12 entries competed in Descriptive Category, six in Experimental Category, and nine in Extension category.
