RELIVE. RECONNECT. REDIRECT. To strengthen its commitment to fostering a connected and empowered alumni community, the University of Rizal System – Pililla Alumni Association (URSPAA) held a gift-giving activity for its alumni on February 22 and 24.
Hon. Dindo Abueg, President; Ms. Cristine Jessa Nagares, Secretary; and Dr. Mark Ray Sioson, Campus Alumni Affairs Coordinator, visited numerous alumni in various Pililla and Tanay locations. They brought with them not only simple gifts but also the sincere intention of showing some care and concern. Notably, some alumni personally appeared on the campus, where Dr. Ariel Plantilla, URS Pililla Campus Director, warmly welcomed them.
With this initiative, the alumni could relieve their happy moments on the campus where they were treated as valued individuals. During their college days, they were considered and recognized as significant assets to the University. As they graduated and became alumni, URS and the association endeavored to preserve that consideration and recognition. They remained as those students the University once valued and held in high regard.
Moreover, reconnecting with them has always been one of the top priorities. Their connection with the University continues after graduation or upon receiving their diploma. Wherever they go, the bond between the students and the University persists, as they carry with them the name and insignia of this institution. Through meaningful activities like this, the effort to reconnect with them intensifies, actively upholding the mission, vision, and core values.
In the past, various URSPAA activities assisted other individuals and organizations. This time, it redirects its focus by initially extending help and support to its alumni. This shift demonstrates that alumni aren’t merely sponsors who consistently donate and are solicited for funds; they can also be recipients of projects and programs. Furthermore, it exemplifies the spirit of “Bayanihan,” showcasing their mutual assistance and support for one another. It reflects the community, the University, and the association aspire to build—one with engaged, involved, and active alumni.
The URSPAA engages in these efforts to assert its presence and manifest its commitment to fulfilling its duties and functions. The association strives to collaborate closely with the Office of Alumni Affairs, URS Pililla Campus, and the University to serve the alumni community best.
