The University of Rizal System (URS) through its Office of Public Affairs (OPA), Gender and Development (GAD) Office, Extension Services, Alumni Federation, Faculty Federation, University Center for Culture and the Arts (UCCA), and the URS Morong Alumni Association celebrated Teacher’s Day on October 20 via Zoom.
The celebration consisted of a short program including teacher’s day greetings from Hon. Gov. Nina Ricci Ynares of the Rizal Province; Hon. Dindo Abueg, President of Rizal Councilors League and URS alumnus; Prof John Vincent Guillermo, President of URS Faculty Federation; Dr. Nancy Pascual, President of URS; Dr. Marvin Amoin, OIC for the URS VPAF; and Prof. Jeffrey Azor, URS alumnus and faculty.
A panel discussion titled The Journey: 40 Years of Teaching in URS with guests Dr. Nancy Pascual, Prof. Monina Francisco and Dr. Rowena Laroza, who all have rendered 40 years of their lives teaching at URS, was held. Another discussion titled URS: A Gender-Responsive and Resilient Institution with guests Dr. Wilhelmina Masinsin, Dr. Nelson Gonzales and Atty. Jansen San Juan, gender advocates, also took place. The event was also highlighted with the launching of the official URS certificates, templates and calling cards. There were games, raffles, performances, and TikTok challenge, all for the delight of URS faculty. ~ MKRR
