The University Statistical Center successfully conducted a two-day training workshop titled “No Assumptions Needed: Unlocking the Power of Non-Parametric Statistics” on January 7–8, 2026, at the Audio-Visual Education Center, Morong Campus. The activity brought together Mathematics faculty members from ten campuses, strengthening inter-campus collaboration and enhancing statistical capacity building.

The training aimed to reorient participants on proper techniques for testing data normality and to enhance their competence in applying non-parametric statistical methods. Key topics included the Mann–Whitney U Test, Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test, and Kruskal–Wallis Test, among others. Participants were also guided on the practical application and interpretation of these tests using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS).

The workshop was facilitated by resource speakers Dr. Floricel Ulat and Prof. Clarita Inofre, who shared their expertise through lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on activities. A total of 42 faculty members attended the first day of the training, 48 on the second day.

The training contributed to enhancing the participants’ analytical skills and reinforced the University Statistical Center’s commitment to advancing research competence across campuses. //Ella Mae Ramos
