In celebration of the International Day for Biological Diversity 2025, the University of Rizal System (URS), in collaboration with the Environmental Education and Biodiversity Research Center (EEBRC) and the Extension Services and Production Services Unit, hosted a webinar-orientation on May 21 via Google Meet and the URS YouTube channel.
Under the theme “Diversity in Action @URS: Empowering a Greener Future for Tomorrow’s Noblest,” the event aimed to ignite awareness, inspire concrete action, and empower participants to actively protect precious ecosystems and champion sustainability.
The initiative underscored the critical role of biodiversity in maintaining ecological balance and securing a sustainable future. Focusing on “Diversity in Action,” the event highlights the practical steps and collaborative efforts needed to preserve the rich tapestry of life supporting the planet.
Esteemed speakers for the webinar include Mr. Sean Owen Neil Toscano, and Ms. April de Rota, both from the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). Their expertise and insights provided valuable perspectives on current environmental challenges and the pathways towards effective conservation and sustainable practices within the province and beyond.
