The Office of Public Affairs (OPA) Information Unit, in collaboration with the Extension Services Unit, conducted the 5th series of Getting Revitalized on Work (GROW): A Seminar Series for Work Enhancement themed “Revitalizing Service Delivery for Excellence and Better Client Experience,” with the topicWork and Artificial Intelligence (AI): Towards Innovation and Transformation. The seminar was held at the Audio-Visual Education Center (AVEC), URS Morong Campus, and via MS Teams on April 26.
The resource speaker, Dr. Angeluzel Tonido-Reyes, Technology Education Expert, emphasized several critical points during the seminar. She highlighted the importance of understanding the world of work with emerging technology, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI). She discussed AI’s application and vast capabilities and provided hands-on training on how to apply them to work. She also addressed the challenges of using technology in the workplace.
A total of 408 participants attended the event, both in-person and online. Dr. Marites Rio, the Vice President for Research Development, Extension, and Production (RDEP), delivered a warm welcome address, setting the stage for the seminar. This was followed by a short message from University President Dr. Nancy Pascual, who shared her insights. Dr. Jocelyn Gagalang, Director of the Office of Public Affairs, discussed the seminar’s rationale, providing a deeper understanding of its purpose. Dr. Fe Esperanza Mateo, Director of the Extension Services Unit, delivered the closing remarks, summarizing the key takeaways from the seminar.
“Working hard is good, but with the continuously growing technology, we can now work smart,” Dr. Reyes concluded.
