URS Builds Alliance for Internationalization with Top Universities in Taiwan

With the aim of productivity in terms of internationalization and expanding connections, the University of Rizal System signed MOUs with top universities in Taiwan: National Changhua University of Education (NCUE); National Yun Lin University of Science and Technology (YunTech); and Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) last January 8, 2024.

Representatives from the said universities are Dr. Hom-Man Lee, Dean of the Office of International and Cross-strait Affairs (NCUE); Dr. Wei-Hwa Pan, Dean Office of International Affairs; and Dr. Chen-Yuan Huang, Deputy Dean of the Office of International Affairs (YunTech).

The activity took place in Kaohsiung, Taiwan and was spearheaded by the Vice President for Research Development, Extension and Production (RDEP), Dr. Marites M. Rio and the Director for International Development and Special Programs (IDSP), Prof. Jonas D. Ynares, together with the members of the URS delegation comprised by the Research and Development Director, Dr.  Niclie L. Tiratira; Extension Director, Dr. Fe Esperanza T. Mateo; Production and IPO Director, Dr. Leo C. Rio; OPA Director, Dr.  Jocelyn L. Gagalang; College of Agribusiness Dean, Dr. Ruff John W. Florendo Jr.; and Former College of Engineering Dean, Engr. Allan P. Anorico.

The indispensable opportunity given to the university will help expand connections and partnership with international institutions. It also aims to promote international research and extension, collaboration, and academic exchange.

 

Community collaborators and the whole of the Philippine-American Academy of Science and Engineering (PAASE) and Edu-Connect Southeast Asia Association (ECSAAK) family contributed to the success of the event and turning the dream of the university in terms of internationalization into reality. Indeed, the internationalization is an affirmative measure in bridging better days and nurturing tomorrow's noblest.
