The Office of Environmental Education and Biodiversity Research Center (EEBRC) headed by Engr. Maribeth Esteva led the celebration of the 9th Annual University Environment Week on December 5 – 9 with the theme, URS: Advancing Environmental Conservation Initiatives, Investing in Our Planet in partnership with Extension Office and Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office – Rizal Province.
Also held during the week was the Wildlife Exhibit which was open for viewing from December 5 to 9. The 2nd Environment Summit, a symposium on Solid Waste Management, with invited speakers from the office of DENR Environmental Management Bureau of Region IV-A and Coca-Cola Philippines was also held. A turnover of five coffee table books from the DENR also took place. The Nature Walk and Wildlife Photography featuring Mr. Noli C. Gabilo, wildlife photographer, was conducted as well. This event is in partnership with TAMRON Philippines, BENRO, LOWEPRO, and FujiFilm.
Along with these activities were the conduct of a virtual Eco-Vlogging Contest, Eco-Tiktok Dance Challenge, and Sabayang Pagbikas Para sa Kalikasan. Entries highlighted environmental advocacies, promoting environmental education among youth and children, wildlife conservation, and personal stories of environmental conservation advocacy. ~MSE
