The Production Services unit of the URS Research Development Extension and Production division, in collaboration with the URS Intellectual Property Office, conducted its first URS Pitch Day.
The event seeks to promote the URS’ distinct research and development (R&D) and non-R&D outputs in the form of technology or innovation (food, non-food, mechanical, and chemical) products or services conducted or innovated by the faculty and student-researchers of the University.
The event has two categories – the R&D and non-R&D pitching, and the one campus, one product pitching. For the R&D and non-R&D pitching, two (2) projects have been featured. These are the Establishment of Pressure Canning Facility in Binangonan, Rizal by Rica Mae Baysa, Dhezzcirie Shane Certeza, and Romea Mae Solano; and, the URS Garden Plants Nursery project by Ricky Ulep and Ryan Guinto. For the One Campus, One Product Pitching, six (6) projects were featured, among which the best three (3) products were chosen. The winners are Power Trio by Dr. Rocan Pangan, Tanay Campus, First Place; Bindas URS Gourmet Tuyo by Prof. Yolanda Vistal, Prof. Nimfa Ceñal, Prof. Carmina Taule, Prof. Eusebio Oliva Jr. and Dr. JLover Trinidad, Binangonan Campus, Second Place; and, the URS Angono Design and Print by Prof. Gian Paulo Francisco, Dr. Norma Elviña, Prof. Rosalinda De Guzman and Mr. Rodler Villalon, Angono Campus, Third Place.
Other featured products were the Fish Bagoong with Ground Bamboo Shoots by Dr. Juan Abarro, Prof. Ma. Christina Payofelin, Mr. Preny-Boy Estrella, and Mr. Bonifacio Togonon of Cardona Campus; the Ofiz Craft Products, by Prof. Edgardo Celestial and Prof. Enrique Villones of Cainta Campus; and, the Pangasius/Catfish Embutido by Dr. Danilo Pascual, Dr. Norberto Nataño, Prof. Marites Palma and Prof. Mylene Balagot of Antipolo Campus.
Likewise, the Production Services Unit participated in the Tanay Hane Festival Business Agri-Trade Fair on November 7-12. The URS agricultural products were sold during the fair. ~EMBR
