Christian Jay Doria of the College of Social Sciences (CSS) clinched the championship title at the Campus Statistics Quiz Bee 2026, leading a pool of 17 contenders at the University of Rizal System Pililla Campus (URSP) Audio-Visual Room (AVR) on September 1.
Doria dominated his competitors by scoring 29 out of 60 points across the rigorous easy, average, and difficult rounds, securing his place to represent the campus in the upcoming Rizal Provincial Elimination of the 30th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) scheduled on September 22.
Trailing closely behind, Markianna Meigh Rañola from the College of Education (COE), placed second with 27 points, earning her a spot alongside Doria as an official campus representative.
The competition, designed to test first-year students’ mastery of statistics through 30 statistical questions, challenged participants to make mathematical decisions under strict time constraints.
Before the conclusion, the event’s chairperson, Math instructor and coach, Dr. Mark Adrian Perez, delivered his closing remarks.
He further encouraged the participants to continue sharpening their analytical ability.
Meanwhile, following their campus-level victory, Doria and Rañola will undergo intensive training in preparation for the Regional Championships scheduled for October 14, 2026.
Winners will advance to the National Finals on November 6, 2026, where regional champions nationwide will compete for national honors, cash prizes, and recognition plaques.
