The College of Education (COE) of the University of Rizal System Pililla Campus (URSP) officiates 84 senior pre-service teachers during the Pinning Ceremony 2026, themed “Honoring Commitment and Excellence: Molding Pre-Service Teachers’ Path to Academe,” held on August 17, at the URSP Gymnasium, marking the formal transition of education students into their upcoming teaching internships.
Alongside the pinning rite, the Student-Teacher Organization (STO) and the COE also highlighted academic excellence by formally recognizing the topnotchers of the Pre-Board Examination held on May 12, with Christel Ann Alanes from the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English (BSE English) as the topnotcher.
The top-performing cohort of pre-board exam also includes Rubilyn San Jose, John Andrei Orca, Mikyla Precilla, Rommel Perillo, Yzza Nicole Fajalla, Angelica Gagatam, Karla, Pauline Fajalla, Wilnard Andojar, and Clareis Razel Rino, securing the 2nd through 10th ranking spots, respectively.
In her opening remarks, COE Dean Dr. Julieta Fulgado expressed gratitude to the organizers and parents for their support and perseverance in realizing the formal On-the-Job Training (OJT) gateway ceremony despite the heavy rains and class suspension.
Campus Director Dr. Ariel Plantilla also addressed the student-teachers, urging them to trust their training and apply the skills learned from the university as they venture outside the academe.
Meanwhile, prior to the affixing of the official pre-service lapel pins, Dr. Jorge Bathan, Principal I of Bugarin Integrated National High School, delivered an inspiring message urging the student-teachers to stay grounded in their calling and responsibility.
“Always remember your purpose […] and be an agent of hope,” Dr. Bathan exclaimed.
The event then proceeded to the students taking their Oath of Pre-Service Teachers, led by STO President Tom Christian Gondra, pledging to uphold professional ethics and pedagogical standards across their respective cooperating schools.
