Best Faculty Research, Extension Projects Win

This year’s winners for the best research and extension projects were chosen during the 15th URS Research and Extension Congress held on August 24 via Google Meet.

For the Research and Development Category, Best Descriptive Research (Oral Presentation) the awardees are: First, Tessie A. Estrabo Eugene Tia for their Ethno Pharmacological Study of Medicinal Plants in Talim Island; Second, Norberto Nataño and Marilou Pantaleon for their Education from the Heart: Narratives of Building Bridges and Overcoming Barriers of Volunteerism; and, Third are Rosalinda De Guzman, Sara Macaraig and Grace Joy Magistrado for their RIZALOG.

Best Developmental Research (Oral Presentation) winners are: First, Reneecilia Paz De Leon for the Soxhlet Apparatus Improvisation: A Tool for Enhanced Understanding of Essential Oils Extraction; and, Second, Erich Cruz Domingo Robles, Jun Panganiban, Henry Vitor and Armilando Arbado for the Development and Validation of Worktext in Commercial Arts I.

For the Best Extension Paper Category, First Place went to Elvira Abines, Rocan Pangan and Alexander Abrazado for their project Enhanced High Value Vegetable Crop Production in the School Community: Gulayan sa Paaralan (BIG – GAP); Second Place was given to Joanne Concepcion, Irene Abe, Rosechel Corral, Gloria De Leon, Myra Salindong and Eden Santos for their extension called Livelihood Engagement and Advancement Program (LEAP) for Persons with Disabilities in Brgy. Pag-asa, Binangonan, Rizal; while the Third Place went to Marilou Pantaleon, Norberto Nataño and Rosa Portillo for the project Academic Growth Assistance Program-Buhay for the Marginalized Group (Phase II). //
