The University of Rizal System recognized 256 awardees during its 18th Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) titled Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant-Heroes, on September 29. Among those awards were the loyalty; service; top performer courses in board and other government examinations; top performer courses in accreditation; outstanding faculty; best administrative unit; and the Presidential award namely high performing center, and, best research and extension projects.
The greetings of Dr. Marvin Amoin, Vice President for Administration and Finance welcomed the participants in the program while Dr. Nancy Pascual, University President, highlighted the people who are the foundation of an institution. The Keynote Speaker was Dr. Marita Canapi, CHED Commissioner, duly represented by Dr. Edna Imelda Legaspi, CHED Director IV for Student Development Services, who emphasized the meaning of service excellence especially for public servants. She also added that the achievements of this year’s PRAISE awardees, who have consistently delivered service excellence in public higher education, and their commitment to delivering exceptional experiences, which significantly contributed to the betterment of education and the community in general.
Citing her response was this year’s Outstanding Faculty, Dr. Jocelyn Gagalang, Director for Public Affairs, who shared her personal experience and how being of service, no matter how young or old and despite the challenges faced in day-to-day lives, is truly rewarding and a blessing to everyone. ~JFa
