Representatives from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) – Rizal, DOST Industry and Technology Development Institute (ITDI), Municipality of Tanay, and the University of Rizal System conducted a site inspection and planning for the transport and assembling of Upgraded Emergency Water Disinfection System (UPEDS) last July 13, 2023, at Sitio Nayon, Sta. Ines, Tanay, Rizal. The activity was part of the DOST Rizal-initiated project “Deployment of Upgraded Emergency Disinfection System (UPEDS) to Eliminate the Presence of Biological and Physico-Chemical Contaminants in the Drinking Water of the Community in Sitio Nayon, Brgy. Sta. Ines, Tanay, Rizal Through Community Empowerment Through Science and Technology (CEST) Program” in partnership with DOST ITDI, Municipality of Tanay and URS. The UPEDS was developed by the DOST ITDI and aims to provide a potable water to the community. The university will be in charge of the fabrication of the UPEDS frame and water testing.
