Themed “23 Years of URS Commitment: Weaving a Legacy of Excellence through Service and Integrity”, the University of Rizal System (URS) held the 23rd Founding Anniversary celebration on August 7-9 at the URS-Morong Campus.
Hon. Gov. Nina Ricci Ynares, Governor of the Province of Rizal, was the keynote speaker.
In her speech, she remembered the brains behind the establishment of the University of Rizal System – former representatives Hon. Gilberto Duavit, and Hon. Emigdio Tanjuatco, and the former governor of Rizal, Hon. Casimiro “Ito” Ynares. She also expressed gratitude to them for helping the youths of Rizal achieve their dreams by bringing the University near them. She likewise mentioned how the education of these youth has contributed to the progress of the province in general.
Gov. Ynares is an alumna of the Assumption – Antipolo, Antipolo City; a graduate of Business Management from the De la Salle University, Manila; and has taken Law at San Beda College in Manila.
She was a member of the Audit Committee, the Legal Oversight Committee, and the Board of Trustees of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) from December 2016 to 2021. She was also the Director of the Manila Hotel, 2016 – 2021. The governor also led the Binangonan Federation of Junior Women’s Club from 1996 to 2001.
She was born on October 20, 1970. She is married to Mr. James Sam Anderson Chiongbian II. The couple has two sons named James Roy and Casimiro IV. She is the daughter of former governors of the Province, Casimiro “Ito” Ynares, Jr. and Rebecca “Nini” Ynares. // ~abc
