BRINGING IN THE CREATIVE IGNITION IN THE CONCEPTUALIZATION OF RESEARCH CAPSULE PROPOSALS

The Office of Research and Development Unit of the University of Rizal System, in collaboration with the URS IPO Project 1C-IPTBM, conducted the “Writeshop on the Conceptualization of Research Capsule Proposals of URS Identified Commodity” on June 6, 2023, at the RDEP Training Center, URS Tanay Main Campus.

Dr. Namerod F. Mateo, Campus Director of URS Tanay, addressed his welcome to the attendees. The audiences were blessed with inspirational messages from Dr. Nancy T. Pascual, the University President, and Dr. Marites M. Rio, Vice President for Research and Development, Extension, and Production. To ensure the cohesiveness of the program flow, Dr. Niclie L. Tiratira, the Director of Research and Development, gave the rationale and expectations.

Engr. Rosa M. Fernandez from IPRS V and Division Chief of Patents of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines graced the event as she was the resource speaker. In her talk, Engr. Fernandez discussed “Introduction to Patent and Preparation to Patent Application,” which would help the participants in certifying their research, trademarks, and other intellectual properties.

It was followed by an afternoon session led by Ms. Grace Ann S. Faulve, Staff of OVP-RDEP, as she discussed the “Presentation of Groups and Roadmap Template.” The third speaker was Engr. Merie Ann C. Dudang, a faculty member from the College of Engineering, gave an informative talk on the “Preparation of PCIEERD Roadmap.”

The active participation of the faculty researchers from different campuses of the University was apparent during the question and answer session with the resource speaker. The attendees also experienced forming their outputs during their workshop session which determined the success of the event.
