MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS

DepEd eXCELS Tutors’ and Learners’ Orientation The University has renewed its partnership with SEAMEO INNOTECH and Department of Education in Distance Education by hosting and providing the venue and needed IT personnel and technical support in the DepEd eXCELS Tutors’ & Learners’ Orientation. eXCELS or “Excellence in School Leadership for Southeast Asia” is a pilot project of SEAMEO INNOTECH under the LEARNTECH Initiative. It aims to promote excellence in school leadership within the SEAMEO member countries of Southeast Asia. Its goal is to work cooperatively with National Partner Institutions to develop and implement a flexible, multi-modal learning program for school heads that can be used in a range of technology environments within their respective countries”. The University Internet Café and computer rooms served as the lecture and demonstration rooms for the said two-day orientation for DepEd Superintendents and Principals in Region IVA conducted last 16-17 June 2009. The IT faculty and technical staff of the University also gained exposure in managing a web-based online interactive virtual class which the IT experts from SEAMEO INNOTECH are willing to link in the soon to be launched new and updated URS official website.
