MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS

International Publications

The first five months of the year were really a milestone for the university. The University also earned recognition at the international level through the selection and publication of research output of Prof. Niclie Tiratira entitled Cutoff Scores: The Basic Angoff Method and the Item Response Theory Method in the international refereed journal The International Journal of Educational and Psychological Assessment (TIJEPA) which publishes empirical reports in the fields of education and psychology focused on assessment, measurement, and evaluation studies. Because of the honor and prestige brought by Prof. Tiratira, it is only fitting that her achievement be recognized also by the URS Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) under the Best Research Award category to entice other faculty members to do scientific research studies that will qualify for publication in various international research journals.

Furthermore, abstracts of researches of College of Agriculture faculty were included and published in the Proceedings and Manuscripts of International Society for Southeast Asian Agricultural Sciences (ISSAAS) 2008 Conference held in Bangkok, Thailand. And finally, the master’s theses of three (3) straight MS-PhD in Statistics students were also published in the Programme and Abstracts of the Annual Convention of the Mathematical Society of the Philippines jointly hosted by Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) and Mindanao University of Science and Technology (MUST) and held in Cagayan de Oro City last May 2009.
